A railway business game where players build routes, supply cities and compete through the eras of rail history.
Rail Nation is a browser-based economic strategy game about running a railway company. Players buy locomotives, build stations and set up routes to deliver goods between cities and factories, earning money and prestige.
Rounds move through eras of railway history, unlocking new engines and goods as the map develops. Players join associations that pool effort to supply cities and compete with other associations, and the end of each round is decided by a race to complete key goals.
The game is developed by Bright Future and published by Travian Games, and has been running since its open beta in January 2013. It is free to play, with optional premium features for real money. A remastered version has been in early access alongside the main game, and the official site lists news, a wiki and a public test realm.
