Overview

Shaiya is a fantasy MMORPG built around the war between two factions, the Alliance of Light and the Union of Fury. Each faction has its own races and six classes, giving twelve classes in total.

At character creation, players choose a difficulty mode. Harder modes make characters stronger but more punishing, and the highest, Ultimate mode, makes death permanent. Faction PvP is the main focus, including fights over altars that grant buffs to the winning side, along with dungeons and bosses for PvE.

After Aeria Games and gamigo, the game is now run by Fawkes Games, which has added matchmaking for PvP events and seasonal updates. It is free to play. The game first launched in the late 2000s, and Fawkes has since added raid, inventory and anti-cheat changes.
