Overview
Astro Empires is a space empire game that runs in the browser with no download. Players found bases on planets and moons, build structures and defenses, research technologies and assemble fleets to claim new territory or attack rivals.
Servers are persistent and large, with players spread across galaxies and a shared map. Guilds coordinate fleets, defend members and compete for control of regions, and trade routes between bases add an economic layer. Construction and research run on real-time timers, so the game can be played in short sessions spread across the day.
Cybertopia has run the game since 2006, and it marked its 20th anniversary in 2026. It is free to play, with an optional paid upgrade account that adds conveniences.
