DarkOrbit Reloaded

Free space MMO where pilots join one of three rival companies, outfit ships, and fight aliens and other players in real-time battles.

Overview

DarkOrbit Reloaded is a long-running space combat MMO in which three corporations, VRU, EIC, and MMO, fight for control of the galaxy. It started in 2006 as a Flash browser game; after Flash was retired, Bigpoint moved it to a standalone launcher, and a Steam version for Windows followed in December 2025.

Every new pilot picks a company and starts in a small, fragile ship. Combat is real-time: you lock onto a target and fire lasers, rockets, and mines while flying between maps. Defeating alien NPCs and finishing missions earns credits and Uridium, which buy better ships, weapons, shields, and drones. Dozens of ship models exist, and much of the progression lies in outfitting them.

Other players are a constant threat, since ships from rival companies can attack you on most maps. Clans can declare war on each other, and scheduled PvP events add team matches. The game is free to play, with an optional Premium membership and a shop for premium currency.
