Overview

Elsword is an anime-styled action MMORPG with side-scrolling, combo-heavy combat. Instead of creating an anonymous hero, players choose one of a fixed cast of characters, each with several advancement paths that change their fighting style.

Play is split between town and field hubs and short instanced dungeons, which can be cleared alone or with a party. The game also has arena PvP with ranked matches, regular holiday events, and gear enhancement systems that drive end-game progression.

In North America it is published by KOG Games, the developer's own publishing arm. It is free to play, with costumes, pets and convenience items sold in the item shop. The game launched in Korea in 2007 and in North America in 2011, and it is also available on Steam with regular patch notes and seasonal events.
