Overview

Lusternia is a text MUD set in a high fantasy world where cities and nature communes compete for power, influence over the planes, and the favor of player-facing gods. Each year brings a new overarching storyline delivered through staff-run events.

Alongside hunting and combat, crafting is a major path: players can take up trades such as alchemy, tailoring, cooking, jewelry, tattoos and tinkering, and many characters build reputations as crafters or merchants. Organizations, guilds and roleplay play a large part in daily life.

Lusternia launched in 2004 and is free to play through the Nexus browser client, the Nexus mobile app, or a MUD client (lusternia.com, port 5000). Optional credit purchases support the game, and a player wiki and newbie guide cover the basics.
