Overview

Imperian: The Sundered Heavens is a text MUD in a fantasy world broken by catastrophe. Its design centers on conflict between player factions: city raids with capturable objectives, island obelisks, contested shard sites, leyline influence and a champion system all give players reasons to fight.

Players choose a race and class, hunt and quest to advance, and can also compete through politics and trade. Combat follows the Iron Realms affliction-and-cure model.

In July 2023 Iron Realms moved Imperian into Legacy Mode: the server stays up, but staff support is minimal and purchases were switched off, so the game is now free with no store. It can still be played in the Nexus browser client, the Nexus mobile app, or a MUD client.
