Overview

Neverwinter is set in and around the city of Neverwinter in the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons & Dragons. It follows a long series of campaign modules that take players from the city's ruins to the Underdark, Chult, Avernus and other well-known D&D locations.

Combat is action-oriented: players aim abilities with the camera and dodge attacks rather than selecting targets. Each class has two paragon paths that change its role. Daily play revolves around campaign currencies, random queues for dungeons and trials, companions and mounts that add stats, and professions run largely through a workshop interface.

Guilds can build up a stronghold together, and there is PvP in domination matches. The game is free to play on PC and consoles, with a cash shop that sells Zen for mounts, companions, bags and lockbox keys. Player trading uses an auction house.
