Orna is a location-based RPG from the Canadian indie studio Northern Forge. It uses the phone's GPS to turn the player's real surroundings into a fantasy map, so walking around town reveals monsters, dungeons, shops and towers to capture.
Combat is turn-based and old-school in style. Players level up, pick and advance classes, and collect and upgrade gear from a pool of thousands of items, hundreds of monsters and many bosses. Dungeons and raids can be found in the world, and players can band together in kingdoms to take on harder content and control territory near where they live.
The game is free to play on Android and iOS, with optional purchases. The same studio also makes Hero of Aethric, a related game set in a hand-drawn world that does not use GPS.
