Spiral Knights

Co-op top-down action game where knights descend into the Clockworks, a shifting mechanical dungeon beneath a strange planet.

Overview

Spiral Knights is an online co-op action game created by Three Rings Design, opened to the public in April 2011 and now owned and run by Grey Havens. Players are knights stranded on the planet Cradle after their ship crashed, and they work from the town of Haven while exploring the Clockworks, a huge mechanical dungeon that constantly rearranges itself.

Play is top-down real-time combat with swords, guns and bombs, either solo or in parties of up to four. Knights collect materials to craft and upgrade weapons and armor, and gear carries damage types and status effects that matter against different monster families. Four major bosses guard the path to the planet's core, and an optional PvP mode is also available.

The game is free to play on Windows, Mac and Linux. Real money buys energy, an in-game commodity that can be traded for currency, plus costumes. Seasonal festivals still run each year.
