The Elder Scrolls Online

An MMORPG set across Tamriel a thousand years before Skyrim, with level-scaled zones, voiced stories and a three-faction PvP war in Cyrodiil.

Overview

The Elder Scrolls Online is set across the continent of Tamriel in the Second Era, long before the single-player Elder Scrolls games. Players join one of three alliances, but most of the map and its story zones are open to everyone, and enemies scale to the player's level so zones can be played in any order.

Daily play mixes fully voiced quest lines, public dungeons, group dungeons, trials, crafting writs and housing. The combat uses action-style aiming and blocking, and classes can be combined freely with weapon and guild skill lines. Champion Points carry progression past level 50.

PvP centers on Cyrodiil, a large siege-warfare zone for the three alliances, plus smaller battlegrounds. The game is a one-time purchase with yearly paid content, an optional ESO Plus subscription and a cash shop called the Crown Store. Trading runs through player guild stores.
