Twilight Heroes

A free browser superhero RPG full of puns and parody, where you patrol Twilight City with a daily turn budget and pick one of four power classes.

Overview

Twilight Heroes is a comedic superhero role-playing game played in the browser. By day your character holds a dull job, and at night they patrol Twilight City, a place where robots, monsters and odd villains are part of normal life. The writing leans on wordplay, parody and pop-culture jokes.

Play is turn-based and built around a daily allowance of turns. Each patrol spends a turn and leads to a fight or a short scene. When turns run out, you rest until the daily reset, and caffeine items can add a few more within a cap. Characters pick one of four classes, Elemental, Gadgeteer, Naturalist or Psion, level up, and unlock new parts of the city by getting transport such as a bicycle or a jetpack.

Quirkz Media launched the game in October 2007, and Metroplexity Games has run it since 2011. It is free, supported by player donations, and has forums and a wiki.
