Dark Age of Camelot

A 2001 MMORPG built around Realm versus Realm war between Albion, Midgard and Hibernia, fought over keeps and relics in shared frontiers.

Overview

Dark Age of Camelot is set in three realms based on Arthurian, Norse and Celtic legend: Albion, Midgard and Hibernia. Each realm has its own races and classes, and the game's main focus is Realm versus Realm combat, where the three sides fight for control of keeps, towers and relics in a shared frontier.

Leveling happens through PvE quests and hunting, but the long-term goal for most players is realm rank, earned by fighting the other realms. Small skirmish groups, large zergs and siege warfare all have a place. Battlegrounds give lower-level players their own fights. Crafting supplies armor and siege equipment, and players can own houses in housing zones.

The game celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2026 and still runs seasonal events. A free Endless Conquest option is available alongside a paid subscription.
