Medievia

Free fantasy MUD from the early 1990s with a large wilderness, ships and an undersea world, dragons, trade caravans and player towns.

Overview

Medievia is a text fantasy MUD that has been running since the early 1990s. Its world combines traditional dungeon zones with a large wilderness, sailing ships, an undersea region, and dragons that both hunt players and carry them between places.

Beyond fighting monsters, players can haul goods by wagon between trading posts, go crabbing, join clans that attach to towns or found their own, and raise family bloodlines that can eventually build homes and castles. Player-versus-player combat appears in several forms, including ship battles, arenas and open zones.

Medievia is free to play and promises to stay that way. The team recommends its own Mudlet-based client for Windows; Mac and mobile players can use general MUD clients, and the game listens on medievia.com, port 4000.
