Outwar is a browser MMORPG that has run continuously since 2002. It is played through menus and a map rather than real-time graphics, which makes it easy to keep open in a tab. The game takes place in and around Diamond City, a strange hub full of quests, shops and dangerous areas.
New characters start at level 10, and a built-in quest helper points to the next step. Progress comes from questing, repeatable solo and group dungeons, and collecting gear from a very large item pool with sets, rares and trophies built up over two decades.
The social core is the crew, Outwar's name for a guild. Crews raid gods and bosses that drop the best items, and several leaderboards rank players by power, wealth and how feared they are. The developers still post updates and seasonal events. Outwar is free to play with optional purchases.
