Overview

Star Wars: The Old Republic is set during a war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, long before the Skywalker era. Each of the eight classes has its own fully voiced story with dialogue choices that shift light and dark side alignment, which makes the game feel close to a single-player RPG while leveling.

After the class stories, players move on to expansion storylines, flashpoints for small groups, operations for larger raid groups, and daily areas. Companions fight alongside the player and can be sent on crafting missions. Strongholds provide player housing that guilds can also use.

PvP includes warzones and arenas, and Galactic Starfighter offers space dogfights. The game is free to play through much of its content, with a subscription that unlocks the full experience and a Cartel Market for cosmetics and convenience items.
