Overview
Lineage II Classic is a separate ruleset of Lineage II that started from the game's early chronicles. At launch it offered the five original races, a much lower level cap and fewer systems, so progress depended on parties, crowded hunting grounds and slow gear upgrades rather than the fast pace of the main servers.
Since then NCSOFT has reintroduced content in stages, including sieges, clan features and new hunting zones. The North American Classic servers opened in October 2018 and still get their own patches; the fall 2026 update added a new hunting zone in the depths of Cruma Tower, new dolls and interface changes.
Classic uses its own characters, separate from the Live servers. In North America it is free to play, with a dedicated Classic store for paid items.
